Within the five years of Ryan being at ACDS he was able to overcome many obstacles. One was his speech development , where now he’s able to name his favorite toys, foods and family members, and express his needs in basic words. His coordination with his hands, arms, legs and body were strengthened through occupational therapy and lastly, Ryan became successful and independent through his motion, strength, function and mobility with the help of physical therapy.
This could have not been possible without your participation and goals set for Ryan. With that said, everyone at the Dickerson and Augustin residence would like to extend their deepest appreciation for your support. We were fortunate to have people like you that are dedicated to improving the education and skills of our children.
Once again thank you for all your work and support to help with our son’s transition into a regular kindergarten public school. We appreciate everything you have done and the time you have taken to invest in our son's future. Your success and belief in providing lifetime resources of exceptional quality, innovation and inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families has truly reflected on our son’s achievements to overcome his developmental disabilities.
If you have a personal story about ACDS that you would like to share, please email
With your support, we can continue to assist children and adults with Down syndrome, Autism and other developmental disabilities and their families.
Your contribution can make a difference to a child and family, just like those families in the stories above.
