Preschool

Plainview Preschool

ACDS’s Preschool Program (three to five years old) is designed to meet the needs of children with a diversity of developmental and learning challenges including Down syndrome and other genetic conditions, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, speech and communication delays, neuromuscular disorders, sensory processing dysfunction, and visual and auditory impairments.

Preschool (3-5 years old)

Once a child is approaching three years old, they can transition to Preschool, known as CPSE. ACDS can provide transition evaluations.

ACDS offers a myriad of developmental groups in Preschool to promote learning and social/emotional growth. The educational and therapeutic staff is highly trained in designing developmentally appropriate interventions with young children and does so with nurturance, encouragement and positive support.

All one-on-one therapeutic services are designed to meet the child’s Individualized Educational Service Plan (IEP) including speech, occupational and physical therapy, and an ABA methodology of teaching. Family training is another support and participation by the families is encouraged.

Related services and SEIT (Special Education Itinerant Teacher) services are additional components of our program. Therapists and teachers go to typical preschools, daycares and homes to deliver one on one services. Families can also utilize ACDS’s Early Intervention Clinic on a preschool level.

Our goal is to get the children ready for Kindergarten in the least restrictive environment.

ACDS is truly a collaborative learning community with teachers, therapists and families working together.
