Kids Connection Daycare

Kids Connection

ACDS’s New York State Licensed, DSS approved day care program provides an enriched Early Childhood Program for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Kids Connection operates from 7:00am to 5:30pm to accommodate parents’ work schedules. Kids Connection offers New York State certified and degree holding teachers, a low student-teacher ratio, an outdoor playground and an indoor gym that offers an array of activities.

Infant Program

The infant program provides infants 6 weeks-18 months a daily schedule that includes floor playtime, socialization, and exploration of the environment though gross motor activities.

The infant classroom floor plan is designed for up to 8 children. Your child will start their day with a smooth transition from home to school. When you drop your child off you will have the opportunity to discuss how your previous evening was, from which your infants schedule for the day will be determined. We believe allowing for your child to stay on their own schedules makes the transition from home to care easier for both parent and child. This also gives the sense of ‘home’ for which we strive. You are encouraged to log the feeding and sleeping from the evening in a communication notebook that goes from home to school every day. Each day your infant’s activities are logged in the book, as well. You will know when your baby ate, slept and played.

Our teachers are passionate about childcare and proper child development. Your infant will be encouraged to explore their environment with stimulation that promotes cognitive, physical, social emotional and language development.

In our infant classroom you can be assured to find:

Toddler Program

The toddler program, for children ages 18 months to 3 years, provides encouragement in attending skills, socialization and self-help skills, circle time with various cognitive topics, language development, computer instruction, music and movement, and naptime.

The toddler classroom floor plan is designed for up to 12 children and three adults. There are areas for gross motor and small motor activities, water and sand play quiet book nooks, music and movement, and circle time activities. We encourage children to explore their environment using their senses and emerging problem-solving skills. Teachers are always there to assist the children and cherish each new milestone your child reaches. From our Good Morning song to our Goodbye Song, the teachers plan individualized as well as small group activities for your children throughout the day. When it is time to begin potty training, the teachers will be by your side to assist and follow through in the classroom. The children have lunch together in our toddler rooms at noon every day. There are many social opportunities as well as self-help skills that can be learned at this time. Naptime is offered daily after lunch. Each child is provided their own sleep space so they can drift into a sleep while listening to the sounds of soft lullabies.

In our toddler class you can be assured to find:

Whether your child is exploring the jungle gym on the playground, feeding themselves at lunch, or exploring all the areas in their classroom, you can be assured that they are in a safe environment discovering new things every day.

Before Care and After Care

We offer an extended morning and afternoon hours for the children attending ACDS’s Integrated Preschool Program.

Before Care Program

7:00 am – 8:45 a.m

The children are welcomed each morning by the assistants in the classroom. The teachers have quiet activities available first thing to make the transition into the school days an easy one. There is a daily charge for the use of the Before Care Program. You are welcome to send in breakfast for your child that will be provided to them.

After Care Program

2:00 pm-5:30pm

After the school day is finished, the children are escorted to the After Care classroom by the assistants in their classroom. They are welcomed into the classroom by the After Care staff.

This is a time when the children get to unwind from their school day. Throughout the afternoon art activities are offered as well as opportunities to play in the gym and play individual and group games.

Snacks in the Afternoon

When you pack your child’s lunch each day you can add an extra snack labeled for daycare that the teachers will offer your child while in the after care. There are snacks on hand in the director’s office if your child ever does not have a snack.
